FAQ’s Page

WELCOME TO THE FAQ PAGE. HERE’S THE SCOOP:

Q: What is Chelsea’s World of Books Literary Blog? And what will I find here?

Formerly a Children’s Librarian and Social Media Manager, now a Children’s Book Author and Behavior Therapist for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, I’ve taken my eclectic skill sets and experiences and used them to combine my passion for children and literature to create an all-in-one useful hub for writers and illustrators who are interested in children’s publishing. This all-in-one writer and illustrator hub is known as Chelsea’s World of Books Literary Blog.

My blog offers a wide variety of resources, community, and support, specifically tailored to kidlit writers and illustrators, and is best known for the popular monthly Feature Interview series, established in 2022. In addition, it also caters to parents, educators, and librarians. You can learn more about the resources I offer parents, educators, and librarians below under ‘TEACHER CORNER.’

FEATURE INTERVIEWS:

Q: What are they? And who are they for?

The Feature Interview series is a monthly collaboration of publishing professionals, including authors, illustrators, editors, and agents, having real conversations about the ins and outs of publishing.

They are a free resource specifically for kidlit writers and illustrators, and can be beneficial at every stage of the publishing journey – created by a children’s book author and former children’s librarian.

Q: What can these interviews offer ME?

An up-close and personal bird’s-eye-view of the world of publishing from an array of different perspectives, from every side of the desk. We dive deep into the behind-the-scenes of publishing, share tips and resources, provide answers to common (and not-so-common) questions, and offer advice on things like:

  • stay current with market trends
  • hook an agent or editor
  • find writing community & other resources
  • discover workshops, contests, and other events
  • figure out which path of publication is right for you
  • know if your agent is a good match

These conversations help writers and illustrators to stay motivated, learn new skills, and continue growing within their community.

TEACHER CORNER

Q: Who is Teacher Corner for? And what will I find there?

Teacher corner was created with parents, librarians, and educators in mind. There, you will have access to a huge collection of resources designed for kids ages 4-12. These resources include downloadable worksheets and lesson plans, audio and video files, games and activities, etc., ranging across various topics like literacy, art, music, ASL, social-emotional learning, and resources for neurodivergent families. And of course- book recommendations!

The resources here were put together by yours truly, a neurodivergent former children’s librarian, current children’s therapist for children with autism spectrum disorder, and kidlit writer and enthusiast, passionate about creating space for all kids. I have made it my goal to pull together resources and collaborate with other artists, illustrators, and librarians that are interested in offering resources for families just like you!
